In April 2022, he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine, serving in the 79th Separate Air Assault Brigade. He held the position of senior operator of an anti-tank missile platoon in a fire support company of an air assault battalion and fought on the eastern front line.

His comrades gave him the call sign “48” because that was his shoe size.

He was laid to rest in the village of Skomoroshky, Vinnytsia region, where he lived with his family.
