Losing a job is always a new phase that requires adaptation. To make it easier to manage financial matters during this period, the government provides unemployment benefits. The amount and duration of these benefits depend on your length of insurance coverage and other circumstances.

Who is eligible for unemployment benefits?
The main requirement is to obtain the status of a registered unemployed person.
You can apply online through the “Diya” portal (the “Diya” mobile app), the job seeker’s electronic account (EKSh), or the “State Employment Service” mobile app, as well as in person at an employment center.
When are benefits granted?
Unemployment benefits are granted starting the day after you are granted registered unemployed status.
How much is the benefit?
The amount of the monthly payment depends on the recipient’s category and their insurance record:
Up to 8,647 UAH—the maximum amount of unemployment benefits.
3,900 UAH — the minimum benefit amount for insured individuals who have less than 7 months of insurance coverage over the past 12 months. The same amount applies to internally displaced persons who do not have documents confirming their insurance coverage.
1,650 UAH — benefits for young people seeking employment for the first time who have no insurance history, as well as for individuals dismissed from work for disciplinary violations as provided by law.
Individual calculation — if you have at least 7 months of insurance coverage over the past 12 months, the benefit amount is determined based on your average wage and total insurance coverage. However, the payment cannot exceed 8,647 UAH per month.
How long are benefits paid?
While martial law is in effect, the duration of unemployment benefits for most recipients is up to 90 calendar days.
