For the second year in a row, the NGO Smarta, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Donetsk Oblast, and Coalition 1325 Donetsk Oblast are holding a volunteer lecture series as part of the campaign "16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence." This is a space where rescuers learn about vulnerabilities during war and modern protection tools.

The lecture series was opened by Yulia Laputina, a special assignment officer of the Security Service of Ukraine, Major General, who spoke about the semantic markers of violence and ways to recognize psychological, structural, and political pressure.

Lilia Kislitsyna, president of the NGO "Smart" and coordinator of the 1325 Donetsk Coalition, focused on networking and how horizontal connections help counteract violence in wartime.

Economic sustainability expert Yaroslava Sorokopud explained how financial dependence affects the risks of violence and gave examples of support for women's entrepreneurship.

Psychologist Olena Kossak spoke about psychological recovery during wartime.

Doctor of Philology Larisa Kompantseva analyzed the gender dimension of Russian propaganda. National expert Karina Litvinyuk spoke about legislative mechanisms for responding to conflict-related sexual violence.

The lecture by human rights activist Lyudmila Huseynova, a former civilian prisoner, was particularly emotional. She shared the experiences of women who had been tortured in Russian captivity and talked about her work to free hostages.

The lecture series concluded with a lecture by women's rights researcher Svitlana Romantsova on the genetic code of women's rights protection standards.

The organizers sincerely thank all the lecturers for their volunteer contribution to combating violence and supporting women who have suffered from it.
