Women's leadership, love for animals, and state support: the success story of the Animal Health Center

Published 21 November 2025 year, 15:30

The Donetsk Regional Employment Service shares another story about female entrepreneurship, which proves that when professionalism, care, and faith in a beloved cause come together, a business is born that changes the community.

The heroine of today's story is Viktoria Shramko, head of the Animal Health Center LLC. She is a woman who has managed to turn her love for animals and deep knowledge of veterinary medicine into a successful business, where each patient is not just a client, but part of a large family.

Under Viktoria's leadership, the Center employs a team of six veterinarians. Most of them are women who prove their dedication to their profession and their tailed patients every day. There are no “ordinary days” here — because every life saved, every wag of the tail, and every grateful purr makes the work truly important.

Thanks to cooperation with the employment service, Victoria learned about the state grant program “Own Business.” Experts helped with consultations on drawing up a business plan and preparing documents, and in 2024, the clinic received a microgrant for business development.

These funds were used to purchase an automatic hematology analyzer, a piece of equipment that significantly improved the quality and speed of diagnostics. In addition, two new jobs were created and two veterinarians were employed, which is an important contribution to the development of local employment.

In addition, the employer took advantage of a state program to provide compensation for a single contribution for employed unemployed persons — another example of how the employment service helps businesses grow confidently in difficult times.

Today, the Animal Health Center is more than just a veterinary clinic and beauty salon for animals. It is a space of trust, care, and professionalism, where it is just as warm at 3 a.m. as it is at 10 a.m. Where every owner can be sure that their pet will be heard, examined, treated, and reassured.

The team has an atmosphere of mutual support, which is a direct reflection of Viktoria Oleksandrivna's leadership. Every day, she proves that it is possible to manage by combining gentleness and persistence, and that a business can be successful precisely because it is based on humanity.

Despite the fact that the region lives in a state of constant anxiety and proximity to the front line, the Center's team continues to accept patients, support owners, and develop — further proof of how important the work they do every day is.

The Animal Health Center is an example of how women's entrepreneurship, social responsibility, and partnership with the employment service create success stories that inspire the community even in the most difficult times.
