As part of the national project “Side by Side: United Communities,” an online meeting titled “Close Despite the Distance: Organizing Online Support for Veterans and Their Families” was held with the participation of representatives from the Zvanivska, Kam’yanska, and Novodmytrivska territorial communities.

 The event served as a platform for exchanging practical experience in the implementation of veteran policy and the social protection of military personnel, war veterans, and their family members.

During the meeting, participants discussed:

- existing local programs to support war veterans, military personnel, and their families;

- mechanisms for providing material and social assistance;

- the organization of health improvement, recreation, and rehabilitation for military personnel and their families;

- support for the families of fallen (deceased) Defenders of Ukraine, as well as the families of persons missing under special circumstances;

- opportunities to improve the support system and further intermunicipal cooperation.

 Representatives from each community presented their own initiatives, shared their experiences in implementing local programs, and discussed practical approaches to providing assistance.

 The Zvanivska Rural Military Administration presented current social support programs, measures to assist military personnel, war veterans, and the families of fallen and missing-in-action Defenders of Ukraine, as well as initiatives aimed at providing health and recreational opportunities for the children of military personnel.

 Such meetings help foster effective cooperation between communities, facilitate the exchange of best practices, and promote new approaches to supporting those who have defended and continue to defend Ukraine. Even from a distance, communities remain united by a common goal: to ensure adequate support for our defenders and their families.
