February 13 marks the anniversary of the shelling of a residential neighborhood and school in the city of Bakhmut by Russian occupiers

Published 13 February 2026 year, 08:00

On February 13, 2015, at around 4:20 p.m., Russian-terrorist forces fired Smerch multiple rocket launchers at a residential neighborhood and secondary school No. 4 in the city of Bakhmut.

Eyewitnesses to the tragedy recall that it was Friday, February 13, 2015. The after-school program students had already gone home. At the time of the shelling, children from the private sector were walking, as usual, on the border between the kindergarten and the school...

Shell fragments fell on the schoolyard and in the residential area. As a result of the shelling, 7-year-old second-grade student of secondary school No. 4, Yegor Molodetsky, and 25-year-old mother of two children, Marina Kermezna, an employee of the electrode workshop of PrJSC "Vistek," who covered her younger daughter with her body, were killed.

Seven people were injured to varying degrees, including three children.

For many years, the enemy has been purposefully and methodically destroying our settlements with air, artillery, and missile attacks, sparing no one: neither children nor the elderly. Residential buildings and civilian infrastructure such as schools, kindergartens, and hospitals are being destroyed. But our memory cannot be destroyed or erased.

Eternal memory to all those who died in the Russian-Ukrainian war.
