Published 09 February 2026 year, 12:09

This was reported by the Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration and Chief of the Regional Military Administration, Vadym Filashkin.

Despite the war and constant challenges, our athletes and coaches continue to represent Ukraine with dignity on the international stage. Their victories are not only sporting achievements, but also proof of the strength, resilience, and indomitable spirit of Donetsk region. That is why supporting athletes and coaches is an investment in a healthy nation, the country’s future, and the development of Ukrainian sport.

The size of the scholarships ranges from two to eight subsistence minimums. Starting January 1, 30 scholarships have been awarded to athletes in Olympic sports, 25 to non-Olympic athletes, and 25 to athletes with disabilities. Scholarships will also be granted to 30 coaches: 15 in Olympic sports, eight in non-Olympic sports, and seven working with athletes with disabilities.

The scholarship recipients represent 11 Olympic sports, 13 non-Olympic sports, and nine sports for persons with disabilities, as well as 16 communities across Donetsk region — from Mariupol to Lyman.

Donetsk region has been, is, and will remain a part of a strong sporting Ukraine.
