Displaced persons from Donetsk region, registered at the humanitarian hub "Yednannia" of Pokrovsk City Council, attended a theater performance in Sheptytske as part of the project "Side by Side: United Communities."
The families attended the performance "Forgive Me, Mom" by the Exemplary Children's Puppet Theater "Kazka," directed by Svitlana Romanova. The chamber production is dedicated to the themes of family relationships, children's sensitivity, and the importance of maintaining an emotional connection between parents and children.
The participation of IDPs in the event was made possible thanks to a memorandum of cooperation between the Pokrovsk and Sheptytsky communities aimed at supporting the adaptation of displaced persons and strengthening social ties.
Organizational issues and support for families were provided by Dmytro Shynkar, head of the Pokrovsk MBA humanitarian hub.
"It is important for us that families have the opportunity to spend time together in a safe and supportive space. This performance received a sincere response from families, as the theme of family relationships is close to both children who want to be heard and adults who want to better understand their children," emphasized Dmytro Shynkar.
Involving IDPs in community cultural events contributes to their social adaptation, emotional support, and mutual understanding between residents of different communities. The performance is an example of how cultural initiatives can bring families together.
