At the command post of the 66th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Mstyslav the Brave, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, together with Minister of Defense Yevhenii Khmara, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykhailo Drapatyi, and Commander of the Airborne Assault Forces Oleh Apostol, met with the warriors of this unit and the 60th Separate Inhulets Mechanized Brigade carrying out missions in the Lyman sector.
As part of Operation Vivaldi, these brigades, together with other units of the 3rd Army Corps, cleared about 75 square kilometers of infiltrating enemy forces and later, through joint efforts, returned a total of more than 125 square kilometers to Ukrainian control. The brigades took part in restoring Ukrainian control over Novoselivka, Oleksandrivka, Yarova, Serednie, Shandryholove, and the outskirts of Korovii Yar.
Commander of the 66th Brigade Rostyslav Sylivakin briefed the Head of State on the missions his unit is currently carrying out and plans to undertake in the near future, and outlined the brigade’s needs.
The President congratulated the warriors ahead of Pokrova and the Day of Defenders of Ukraine, thanked them for defending our state, and presented them with state awards. Volodymyr Zelenskyy awarded 16 service members from the 66th and 60th Brigades the Orders “For Courage,” II and III classes.
During the meeting, the nationwide minute of silence was observed. Those present honored the memory of the fallen defenders of Ukraine.
“Please take care of yourselves, because the Kharkiv sector is extremely important. The Izyum and Kharkiv sectors – so much has happened here, so many important operations, and so many hard-won kilometers of our land have been recla
