As part of the national project "Side by Side: United Communities," the communities of Avdiivka and Ivano-Frankivsk officially cemented their cooperation by signing a Memorandum of Cooperation.
This step was a logical continuation of the long-standing support that the Ivano-Frankivsk community has provided to Avdiivka since the first days of the full-scale invasion by the Russian Federation.
The signing of the memorandum confirms the parties' readiness for systematic, long-term cooperation aimed at supporting the Avdiivka community, its residents, displaced persons, and the families of Ukraine's defenders. Despite the temporary occupation of Avdiivka, the partnership is based on a clear understanding: the city was, is, and will remain Ukrainian.
The document was signed by the mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk, Ruslan Martsinkiv, and the acting head of the Avdiivka City Military Administration, Serhiy Legenkyi.
The signing of the memorandum demonstrated that Ukrainian communities are capable of acting as a single entity. "Side by side" is a principle that unites communities around mutual assistance, trust, and a shared belief in Ukraine's victory and Avdiivka's return home.
