The regional tour of the expedition "My Motherland is Ukraine" has been completed in Donetsk Oblast

From November to December 2025, the second (regional) round of the All-Ukrainian Local History Expedition for Schoolchildren, "My Motherland is Ukraine," was held remotely.


The organizer was the Donetsk Regional Center for Tourism and Local History for Schoolchildren.


A total of 21 works (50 participants) were submitted for participation in the expedition from the Bakhmut, Velykonovosilkovsk, Dobropillia, Druzhkivka, Kramatorsk, Kurakhiv, Lyman, Selidovo, and Toretsk communities of the Donetsk region.


The research and excursion work was carried out in the following areas:

  • "The spiritual heritage of my people,"
  • "There is no end to the Cossack family,"
  • "From my father's well,"
  • "From the ashes of oblivion,"
  • "Geological trails of Ukraine,"
  • "Geography of my native land."

 The Donetsk region will be represented in the All-Ukrainian tour by the winners of the regional tour in the following categories:

  • "The Spiritual Heritage of My People" - Kateryna Rogodchenko, Ulyana Temerbek - 8th grade students of the general secondary education institution Gymnasium No. 7 of the Druzhkivka City Council of the Donetsk region, led by Tetiana Sviatoshenko and Yuriy Litvinov.
  • "From my parents' well" - Angelina Usenko, Tamara Tsotsolashvili, Alevtina Avramenko, Maria Medvedeva - students in grades 7-9 of secondary school No. 20 of the Toretsk City Military-Civil Administration of the Bakhmut District, Donetsk Region; members of the "Ecological Local History" club of the Donetsk Regional Center for Tourism and Local History for Schoolchildren, led by Tetiana Samoilenko and Iryna Mukha.

The judging panel of the regional round highly appreciated the depth of research conducted by young local history enthusiasts of the region. Particular attention was paid to the preservation of material culture objects, the disclosure of environmental problems, the coverage of the lives of prominent personalities, and the analysis of the influence of traditional rituals on modern life.
