Olena Maryanchuk, a student at the Kramatorsk College of Technology and Design, won the “Enchanting World of Motanka Dolls” festival and competition.
The festival took place on May 30, 2026, on the grounds of the Kremenets-Pochayiv State Historical and Architectural Reserve within the Kremenets Castle on Mount Bona in the city of Kremenets.
The artistic event was aimed at preserving and promoting Ukrainian folk traditions, developing authentic and contemporary art in the creation of motanka dolls, and brought together masters of decorative and applied arts, cultural workers, student creative groups, and admirers of Ukrainian folk heritage from various parts of the country.
In the “Stylized Motanka Doll” category of the competition, Olena Maryanchuk won a second-place diploma. The contestant presented a unique, original sweatshirt to the expert jury, which she had hand-painted and embroidered with beads.
The work presented by this talented student from Donetsk Oblast immediately caught the experts’ attention, as it stands out for its high level of originality, stylish modern design, and an exceptionally harmonious blend of traditional Ukrainian ethnic motifs with current fashion trends.
