Today, the boundaries between Ukrainian cities are blurring, communities are becoming one, and the hearts of their residents beat in unison.

To mark the 455th anniversary of the founding of the city of Bakhmut, a symbolic meeting of educators and students from Bakhmut and Kremenchuk took place as part of the national project “Side by Side: United Communities.”

Lyudmyla Popova, a teacher at the Dmytro Chernyavsky Lyceum in Bakhmut, visited the student government leaders at Kremenchuk Gymnasium No. 1. During their friendly conversation, the gymnasium students learned about the rich history, cultural traditions, unbreakable spirit, and outstanding achievements of the Bakhmut region. The guest’s story immersed those present in the mysteries and pride of a land that lives today in the heart of every Ukrainian.

The young people from Kremenchuk prepared touching surprises for their guests from Bakhmut—hand-drawn pictures and cards with heartfelt greetings. In return, our fellow countrymen presented the talented students with symbolic gifts, which had been crafted by Bakhmut high school students with love and faith in a peaceful future. Words of deep gratitude were expressed for the strong friendship, reliable support, fruitful cooperation, and partnership.

These touching encounters and heartfelt exchanges, filled with warmth and gratitude, prove once again that distances disappear when hearts unite around a common goal, creativity, and mutual support.
