The collaboration between the Poltava and Bakhmut communities as part of the national project “Side by Side: United Communities” continues and opens up new opportunities for communication, support, and the implementation of joint initiatives.

The municipal institution “Poltava Veterans Center” invited residents of Bakhmut to an Open House. The highlight of the event was the opening of the photo exhibition “Unbreakable: Choosing Life.”

The exhibition is dedicated to 11 veterans of the Russian-Ukrainian war who were wounded while defending Ukraine. Today, they are returning to active life, gaining new experiences, and continuing on their own paths.

The photographs capture special moments from hippotherapy sessions—one of the rehabilitation methods that helps individuals find inner balance, feel a sense of support, and strengthen their self-confidence.

Together with residents of Poltava, representatives of the Department of Veterans’ Policy, the Poltava Veterans’ Center, and Vladislav Nosenko, the Representative of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights in the Poltava region, the people of Bakhmut got to know the heroes of the exhibition and their stories.

Each photograph told the story of people who, despite difficult trials, continue to live, grow, and discover new opportunities for themselves.
