Cooperation between communities in Donetsk Oblast and international financial institutions is moving into the practical realm. A working meeting was held with the participation of Oleksiy Reva, head of the Bakhmut City Military Administration, Oleksandr Mosin, deputy mayor of Kropyvnytskyi, and Yulia Shevchuk, chief investment advisor at the Nordic Environment Finance Corporation (NEFCO).

Representatives of the Bakhmut and Kropyvnytskyi communities' working groups and experts who will coordinate the implementation of the projects joined the discussion.

As part of earlier agreements between the Kropyvnytskyi City Council, NEFCO, and the Bakhmut City Military Administration, the renovation of a five-story dormitory in the village of Nove in the Kropyvnytskyi community has begun. After modernization, the building will become social housing for displaced persons, particularly from the Bakhmut community.

The project involves a comprehensive renovation of the facility: modernization of water supply systems, introduction of energy-efficient technologies, installation of solar panels and heat pumps, redesign of rooms, installation of elevators, and landscaping. The total cost of the work is €4.2 million. Separately, the reconstruction of the drinking water supply system of the settlement is planned.

During the meeting, priorities were set regarding transparency of implementation, adherence to deadlines, and responsibility of the parties. The meeting marked the beginning of further systematic cooperation between partners to support communities in Donetsk region and provide housing for displaced persons.
