As part of the national project “Side by Side: United Communities,” the partnership between Bakhmut and Hoshcha is taking on new high-tech forms. An integrated lesson was held at the Bakhmut Center for Vocational and Technical Education, during which 3D design was combined with traditional steel fabrication for the development of the Hoshcha community.
The event demonstrated effective cross-sectoral collaboration. Participants were divided into two professional groups: information technology specialists (3D design) and welding experts. This division allowed for the synchronization of intellectual development with practical production.
The process begins not in the workshop, but at a computer monitor, where a detailed digital model is created. Next comes the 3D printing of a physical prototype, which allows for evaluating ergonomics and design down to the smallest millimeter. Only then do the welders take over, transforming the virtual concept into solid steel.
Mykola Panchuk, the mayor of Hoshcha, joined the integrated lesson and presented the concept for a new brand logo—a metal candy called “Help Yourself.” This object is intended to become a recognizable souvenir and one of the symbols of Hoshcha.
According to the plan, the project’s implementation will fall on the shoulders of talented young people. IT students will develop a unique design and 3D model of the future art object. Welders from the Bakhmut Vocational Training Center will produce the final metal product.
The collaboration will not be limited to the creation of a single installation. The plan is to expand the initiative in the future. The steel sculptures created by the students will become part of an interactive scavenger hunt.
This route will guide residents and visitors through iconic locations, introducing them to the history and culture of Hoscha through contemporary art installations. Hoscha serves as an example of how, even in difficult times, communities can come together, invest in technology, and support vocational education.
