The familiar silhouette of the gazebo you remember from Bakhmut can now be seen in Hoshcha. Nearby are metal hearts, also modeled after those that once adorned your hometown. Once upon a time, Bakhmut residents took photos by them back home. Now, new photos will be taken in the Rivne region.
This opportunity was made possible by teachers, vocational training instructors, and students majoring in welding and electrical engineering at the Bakhmut Center for Vocational and Technical Education. With their own hands, detail by detail, they recreated the gazebo and art installations from familiar Bakhmut squares.
The students worked under the guidance of their mentors. They also dedicated their work to the Hoshcha community as a token of gratitude for their hospitality and support.
The gazebo and metal hearts in Hoshcha were unveiled on September 28 during a gathering marking the 455th anniversary of Bakhmut as part of the national project “Side by Side: United Communities.”
Serhiy Rodin, Deputy Mayor of Bakhmut, and Mykola Panchuk, Head of the Hoshcha Settlement Council, addressed the participants. Representatives of local government, business, and educators who assist the residents of Bakhmut and support inter-community cooperation received thanks from the Bakhmut City Military Administration.
Zakhar Pshonka and Daria Ketrar—young performers and recipients of scholarships from the Bakhmut City Council for their artistic achievements—performed for their fellow townspeople. The Goscha ensemble “Veseli Svaszki” joined the concert program.
Next to a replica of the Bakhmut gazebo, Zakhar and Daria performed the song “At Home,” which resonated particularly deeply on this day.
