Ukraine has a state program that provides veterans with modern hearing aids free of charge.
Hearing loss can occur due to combat operations, blast waves, prolonged exposure to high noise levels, or other consequences of military service. That is why the state provides the opportunity to obtain hearing aids free of charge to help defenders regain comfortable communication and full participation in everyday life.
Hearing aids provided under the program are selected individually according to medical indicators and the needs of the person.
Who is eligible for a free hearing aid?
War veterans and military personnel with hearing impairments. Even if disability has not yet been established.
How to get a hearing aid?
1. Contact your doctor (family doctor or therapist), who will refer you to an audiologist.
2. Get checked out by an audiologist and get a medical opinion.

Submit the following documents:
- Ukrainian passport;
- war veteran ID or other document confirming your status;
- referral from your attending physician;
- conclusion of the military medical commission – for military personnel, or an extract from the decision of the ECOPFO (or the current decision of the MSEC) on the establishment of disability and recommendations for an individual rehabilitation program;
- hearing acuity test results (audiogram) provided by an audiologist after examination;
- certificate of assignment of an identification number (if available).
After submitting the documents:
- undergo the procedure for selecting and individually adjusting the hearing aid;
- receive a free hearing aid and recommendations for its use and care.
