On the occasion of the National Anthem Day of Ukraine, the Donetsk Regional Youth Center held an online essay contest “My Anthem”. The goal of the event was to help young people understand the role of state symbols, in particular the National Anthem, as a fundamental element of national identity.
As part of the competition, participants presented their own creative works, in which they analyzed the meaning of the Anthem in modern society. The authors explored the role of the state symbol as a marker of national unity, the historical legacy of the struggle for independence, and as a cultural phenomenon that acquires new meanings in the context of modern challenges.
The works were evaluated by a professional commission, which included teachers from the Department of Ukrainian Language, Theory and History of Ukrainian and World Literature of the Vasyl Stus Donetsk National University.
The main criteria for evaluating the competition materials were:
- originality of the author's idea;
- depth of disclosure of the topic;
- logical structure of the presentation;
- language literacy and emotional expressiveness.
The jury paid special attention to the ability to analytically understand the topic, avoid stereotyped generalizations and demonstrate one's own worldview.
According to the results of the competition, the winners were:
- Nadvorny Bohdan (Lymansk territorial community of Donetsk region) for the essay “Manifesto of the Indestructible Clan”;
- Bondarenko Anna (Zhytomyr territorial community) for the essay “Prophetic Meanings of the National Anthem of Ukraine”.
The event was organized by the Donetsk Regional Youth Center with the support of the Department of Family, Youth and Mass Events for National and Patriotic Education of the Donetsk Regional State Administration in cooperation with the Vasyl Stus Donetsk National University.
