Libraries of Donetsk Oblast have made a name for themselves at the national level

On June 25–26, at the 13th Interregional Fair of Library Innovations “Bibliocreative–2025,” organized by the Mykolaiv Regional Library for Children and transformed into a lively platform for the exchange of experience and inspiration, five ideas from Donetsk region were among the best among participants from all over Ukraine.

Methodological support and organizational coordination were provided by the Donetsk Regional Library for Children — so that the voice of the region sounded professional, dignified, and confident.

Libraries from the communities of Kostiantynivka, Myrne, Kramatorsk, Mangush, and Hrodivka joined the event. They varied in size but were united in one thing: the desire to change the world around them through words, actions, and community support.

At the Fair, Donetsk presented a real mix of creativity and content:

  • a witty library comic that aptly plays on the daily challenges of a librarian — from the Kostiantynivka Central Public Library;
  • the “Four-Legged IDPs” project, in which heroism is measured by the loyalty between humans and animals, even in war — implemented by rural libraries in the Hrodivska territorial community;
  • a gastronomic journey through the traditions of the Greeks of Nadazovia, which reveals culture through taste — presented by the Public Library of the Mangush Territorial Community;
  • a local history media project that brings Donetsk region to life in space and time — presented by the Central City Public Library of the Kramatorsk City Council;
  • the idea of “fairy tale therapy in headphones,” where words heal and inspire even when war is nearby — implemented by the Granitnenska Village Library of the Myrnenska Territorial Community.

These initiatives have already found support and interest from colleagues in other regions. This proves once again that even in the most difficult times, the library not only continues to work but also remains a place of warmth, meaning, and cultural support.

“Bibliocreative” is not just an event. It is a space where you can see how strong the library community can be when it speaks from the heart. And Donetsk Oblast is part of this powerful and unbreakable voice.
