The forced evacuation of families with children from the Mykolaiv community is ongoing. Due to the threat to their lives, a family from Karpivka agreed to evacuate. The mother and her two 15-year-old daughters are now safe.
To convince adults not to risk their children’s lives, the “White Angel” unit is conducting outreach among the population. Police officers remind parents of their responsibility for their children’s lives and health and explain the critical nature of the situation.
It is currently dangerous to remain in the community: the enemy strikes residential areas daily, destroying homes and killing and injuring civilians.
“Until January, things were more or less normal for us, but then it became very loud and scary; the shelling began, and I realized that the situation would only get worse, so I decided to leave with my children,” says the woman.
It is hard for the mother and her two 15-year-old daughters to leave their home, but the enemy has left them no choice. We have to leave to keep living.
“We don’t like online learning; we’d like to go to school. We’re glad we’re leaving,” the sisters say.
Police officers took the family to a temporary shelter in Sloviansk. Later, with the help of volunteers, the family will travel to a safer region of the country.
