Representatives of the Bakhmut community gathered at the National Museum of Folk Architecture and Life of Ukraine. Near their native Donetsk-style cottage, the displaced residents planted young rose bushes, extending Bakhmut’s famous rose-lined avenue.
For the people of Bakhmut, the rose is more than just a flower. It is the soul of their hometown. It is a symbol of its beauty, strength, and defiance. The enemy may temporarily occupy our streets, but it will never be able to destroy our memory, our unity, and our love for our homeland.
Every rosebush planted in Pirogovo is a living manifesto from the people of Bakhmut: Bakhmut lives! Bakhmut fights! Bakhmut will definitely return!
The Bakhmut community sincerely thanks everyone who joined this important initiative. Special thanks to the museum administration for the opportunity to preserve and nurture a piece of our Ukrainian East under the Kyiv sky.
Come to Pirogovo, find the Donetsk House, and let the beauty of Bakhmut touch your heart. May these roses remind everyone: life always triumphs!
