For government support programs to truly benefit businesses, it is important not only to know they exist but also to understand how to use them. That is why the Donetsk Regional Employment Service has launched the Business TALK series—a platform where our specialists provide clear answers to the most common questions from employers, explain legal requirements, and highlight available government support opportunities.
Today, we address one of the most frequently asked questions:
How long is the 50% minimum wage compensation paid?
Employers who hire certain categories of job seekers may take advantage of a government support program and receive compensation equal to 50% of the minimum wage.
Depending on the employee's category, this compensation may be paid for up to six months, provided that the employer ensures the person's continued employment after the compensation period.
This program helps businesses partially offset labor costs, encourages the creation of new jobs, and expands employment opportunities for people who need additional support in the labor market.
The procedure for granting this compensation is established by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 124 of February 10, 2023.
