Training on developing documentary film clubs Docudays UA is being organized for library specialists in Donetsk Oblast

Published 29 May 2025 year, 09:16

In these difficult times of war, libraries remain spaces of support and dialogue. Library-based film clubs are not just about watching films, but about creating a safe space where communities can talk about important issues, think critically, and unite around human rights values.

The Donetsk Regional Library for Children, with the support of the Regional State Administration, invites library specialists, cultural institution employees, and representatives of local communities to an online meeting dedicated to the development of Docudays UA film clubs in public libraries.

The event will take place on May 30, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. on the Google Meet platform.

The program includes:

•    The experience of the Docudays UA film club at the T. Shevchenko Branch Library (Shabelkivka), which is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year;

•    Step-by-step instructions: how to open a Docudays UA human rights education film club in your library;

• Screening of the short film Hotel 22 (dir. Elizabeth Lo, USA) followed by a discussion;

• Legal context of the film: commentary from a legal aid expert.

Participation is free of charge upon prior registration. The registration form is available at: https://forms.gle/YRpp3HDkHZxkf2jE8

Don't miss the opportunity to join a community that is changing the world — film by film, conversation by conversation.
