To celebrate Mother’s Day and Family Day, educators from the Donetsk Regional Palace of Children’s and Youth Creativity organized a special event titled “Home Is Where Mom Is” on the banks of the Southern Bug River in Khmelnytskyi as part of the “Activity Time: Donetsk Region Unites” project.

This location became a true hub of support, friendship, and unity for displaced children from Donetsk Oblast and their families. The event’s program was packed with a variety of activities, where educational and entertainment elements were combined with heartfelt communication. Participants took part in the game “The Difference Between Worlds,” the interactive activities “Hearts in Unison” and “Family Intuition,” and completed the creative tasks “Mother’s Strength” and “Love in the Palms.”

The art manifesto “Mother Ukraine: Imprint of Love” and energetic dance routines with the “Hug” flash mob added a special emotional touch to the gathering. The final highlight of the celebration was a cozy picnic under the peaceful spring sun, filled with children’s laughter and warm conversations.

This initiative helped participants feel that the Ukrainian family is the strongest foundation, and that a mother’s love is a force that protects and guides us forward. Joint creativity and a friendly atmosphere gave children and parents a sense of unity within the great, unbreakable family of Donetsk Oblast. We are grateful to every mother for her courage, and to every child for the light in their eyes, because together we are building the future of a free Ukraine.
