Members of all national minorities and communities in Ukraine are entitled to free legal aid. This right is guaranteed by the Constitution of Ukraine and is defined by the Law of Ukraine “On Free Legal Aid.”
The free legal aid system provides access to legal services for Ukrainian citizens, foreigners, stateless persons, refugees, and persons in need of additional protection.
Free primary legal aid includes:
- providing legal information;
- consultations and explanations on legal issues;
- assistance in drafting applications, complaints, and other legal documents;
- facilitating access to secondary legal aid and mediation.
The free legal aid system pays special attention to ensuring access to legal services for representatives of national minorities and vulnerable groups.
