On August 13, 2026, for the youth of Donetsk region aged 14 and over, the Department of Family, Youth and Mass Events of National and Patriotic Education of the regional state administration organized an online meeting with representatives of the international humanitarian organization HALO Trust in Ukraine.
Since 2015, the HALO Trust Representative Office has been carrying out comprehensive humanitarian mine action activities in Ukraine. Along with practical demining, an important area of the organization's work is informing the population to prevent risks associated with explosive objects.
The main goal of the event is to increase the level of awareness of young people about mine safety, teach them the correct algorithms of actions in critical situations and prevent possible accidents.
The information meeting was held in the format of an interactive presentation, during which HALO Trust specialists discussed with the participants key issues of civil protection: what explosive and suspicious objects are most often found in the territory of Ukraine and how they can be disguised; what absolutely cannot be done when suspicious objects are detected; how to recognize mined areas, decipher official and unofficial warning signs and markings; a clear algorithm of actions if a person accidentally finds himself in a potentially dangerous or mined area.
For the convenience of the participants and effective processing of the material, the event was divided into two sessions that covered youth communities from all corners of the region.
Conscious behavior, basic knowledge of mine safety and the ability to correctly assess risks are the foundations that save lives today. The department will continue systematic cooperation with international partners for the safety and education of the youth of the Donetsk region.
