A new phase of the regional summer environmental expedition, organized by the Donetsk Regional Ecology and Nature Center, has begun at the "Emerald City" Social and Educational Center.
A key feature of this phase is a team-based environmental mission: each group has been tasked with creating a video about overcoming a specific environmental disaster. Over the course of the five-day expedition, participants will complete various tasks, take part in workshops and games, and receive clues after each activity to help them find solutions to the environmental problem and prepare their final video.
The first activities have already taken place. Participants took a tour of the halls of the “Virtual 5R Eco-Museum” and joined the online game “Save the Planet.” The children also learned about the art of mehendi and created plant-based designs inspired by nature, while a balancing game helped them develop skills in cooperation, interaction, and teamwork.
Ahead, young explorers will participate in creative workshops on decorating pencil cases, making keychains from recycled materials, and crafting decorative items from thread and cardboard. The expedition will conclude with a final event, “EcoFinal,” during which the teams will present their own video projects.
The regional summer environmental expedition combines environmental education, creativity, teamwork, and research activities, helping children realize the importance of environmental conservation and their own role in solving today’s environmental problems.
