The “Space Without Borders” Art Campaign Kicks Off for Accessibility Week in Donetsk Oblast

Published 12 May 2026 year, 10:51

As part of Accessibility Week, the Donetsk Regional Educational and Methodological Center for Culture announces the launch of the regional online cultural and artistic campaign “Space Without Borders.”

The event aims to draw attention to issues of accessibility and architectural and social barrier-free environments through the visual arts. The organizers seek to create a space for creative reflection on a society in which every person, regardless of age, physical abilities, or life circumstances, feels comfortable, confident, and equal.

All interested residents of the region are invited to participate, regardless of age, including professional artists and amateurs; students of art schools and creative studios; children, youth, adults, and seniors.

Participants are invited to creatively explore the idea of a world without barriers within the following thematic areas:

  •  “A City Without Borders” – inclusive architecture of the future, accessible streets, parks, and public spaces;
  • “Equal in Dreams, Free in Action” – joint activities, sports, creativity, and recreation for people with diverse abilities;
  • “Architecture of Care” – elements of accessibility and a comfortable urban environment;
  •  “The World in My Hands” – mutual understanding, support, and mental accessibility.

Entries may be created using any medium: painting, printmaking, or digital art.

Files must meet the following requirements:

  • orientation – landscape (portrait);
  • format – JPEG or PNG;
  •  file size – from 2 MB to 10 MB;
  • image quality – clear, without shadows, glare, or extraneous objects.

Submissions will be accepted from May 18 to May 29, 2026.

To participate, you must register via the online form at https://forms.fillout.com/t/wSsmw3AC3Uus and submit your work to the email address: [email protected].
