Residents of Donetsk are invited to participate in the National Unity Radio Dictation

Published 21 October 2026 year, 14:22

On October 27, Ukrainian Literacy and Language Day, Ukrainians around the world will take part in the All-Ukrainian National Unity Radio Dictation – 2026. This is an annual tradition that unites people—regardless of age, profession, or location—around a love for the Ukrainian language.

We urge residents of the Donetsk region to take part in the radio dictation so that, together, we can feel the power of our native language and our connection to the greater Ukrainian community. Everyone who values and respects the Ukrainian language is invited to participate.

This year, the text for the radio dictation was written by Ukrainian writer and veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war Artur Dron. For the first time in the event’s history, the text will be read by two people: Artur Proydakov, a teacher of Ukrainian language and literature, and Dasha Astafieva, a singer, civic activist, and volunteer.

The broadcast will take place on Suspilne’s platforms: on Ukrainian Radio and Radio Kultura, on Ukrainian Radio’s YouTube channel, on the Suspilne Kultura TV channel, website, and YouTube channel, as well as on the suspilne.radio and “Diya” apps.

You can participate individually, with your family, or together with colleagues, friends, or like-minded people. Wherever you are, take some time for the Ukrainian language and become part of this shared linguistic event.

In the National Unity Radio Dictation, there are no losers—only those who work together to preserve and promote the Ukrainian language. Donetsk region, let’s join in, because every line written is another step toward our linguistic unity!
