Yuriy Vinokurov, First Deputy Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, took part in the opening of the National Accessibility Week “Accessible Language” and a meeting of the National Council on Accessibility attended by First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska.

During the event, Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko presented the Government’s key decisions in the field of accessibility, as well as a report on the results of implementing the Action Plan for 2025–2026 to carry out the National Strategy for Creating an Accessible Environment in Ukraine.

Deputy Prime Minister for the Recovery of Ukraine and Minister of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine Oleksii Kuleba also delivered a report.

Participants discussed further steps in state policy regarding accessibility, the implementation of educational and awareness-raising programs, and the development of an accessible environment for all citizens.

Special attention was given to fostering a culture of barrier-free communication and promoting the use of appropriate terminology.

In particular, they discussed the creation of an accessibility glossary as an important tool for fostering inclusive communication, mutual respect, and understanding in society.

The meeting also featured presentations on educational programs for professionals in the fields of education, healthcare, social services, sports, and other sectors.

Accessibility is not only about physical accessibility, but also about equal opportunities, respect, and dignified treatment of every person.
