Government officials met with the families of prisoners of war and missing-in-action defenders from the Mariupol community

On May 25, a meeting was held with family members of prisoners of war and missing-in-action defenders of Ukraine from the Mariupol territorial community.


The meeting was attended by representatives of the regional state administration’s department for veteran policy, the Commissioner for Persons Missing Under Special Circumstances, the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, the regional employment center, and the Main Directorate of the Pension Fund of Ukraine in the Donetsk region.

During the meeting, the following issues were discussed:

  • support programs for war veterans, their family members, and the family members of fallen Defenders of Ukraine at the national, regional, and local levels;
  • opportunities provided by the employment service for job search and professional development;
  • pension benefits and subsidies for housing and utility services for family members of persons missing under special circumstances;
  • the work of the Office of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights in supporting family members of prisoners of war and missing Defenders of Ukraine.

Inna Starostina, Deputy Head of the Regional State Administration’s Department of Veterans’ Policy, spoke about the possibility of receiving state and additional social benefits funded by the regional budget.
