Donetsk Oblast joined the dialogue on accessibility

Published 17 March 2026 year, 19:16

Dignity, equal opportunities, mutual support, and the strength of the human community. These were the topics discussed in Kyiv at the panel discussion “Accessibility as the New Norm: From National Strategy to Everyday Practice.”

Accessibility is about dignity. It is a concept that goes far beyond physical accessibility. It is about the ability to live and thrive even under difficult conditions. It is about equality. And it is about every person’s right to be heard.

Once again, Mariupol State University served as the venue for the gathering.

Participants in the dialogue included Olena Moshenets, Member of the Ukrainian Parliament and Deputy Chair of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Anti-Corruption Policy; Yuriy Stepanets, a member of the Mykolaiv City Council; Yuriy Gavrylyshyn, Lieutenant Colonel of the 1st Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine “Azov”; Vadym Filashkin, Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration; and representatives of the region’s communities, the public, and the regional youth council.

Vadym Filashkin, Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, thanked the participants and organizers of the event: “Thank you for your support and strategic vision to everyone who contributed to the organization and dialogue, particularly Tetyana Lomakina, Advisor and Presidential Commissioner on Accessibility. Thank you to Olena Zelenska; thanks to her initiatives, the country is already changing for the better.”

He also noted that the issue of accessibility holds special significance for Donetsk Oblast: people live here who, despite the war, continue to work, teach, learn, support one another, and build a future.
