World Cleanup Day: On September 20, 2025, Donetsk region took part in World Cleanup Day. This is a global environmental campaign in which the whole of Ukraine participated.
This event is an important manifestation of care for the environment and a responsible attitude towards nature.
Despite the challenges of war, the residents of Donetsk region – active young people, representatives of youth councils, representatives of structural units, youth workers temporarily residing in other regions – came together to clean up the territory, demonstrate their care for the environment, and contribute to cleaning up the environment.
Residents of Donetsk from the communities of Siverska, Novogrodivska, Sviatohirska, Velykonovosilkovska, Myrnenska, Pokrovska, Nikolskaya, Grodivska, Ocheretynska, Staromlynivska, Vuhledarska, Udachnenska, and Oleksandrivska joined the cleanup with the Donetsk Regional Youth Center. Each of them contributed to the common cause, demonstrating an unbreakable spirit and responsibility for the future of their region.
Given the circumstances of wartime, participants chose different formats for cleaning: traditional community clean-ups, cleaning the territories of institutions, sorting and handing over secondary raw materials, as well as digital cleaning for communities that were physically unable to participate.
World Cleanup Day is not only an environmental campaign, but also a manifestation of patriotism and unity. By joining such initiatives, we demonstrate that even in difficult times, we are capable of uniting for a common goal, caring for our environment, and building a better future for our country.
