Teachers from the Donetsk Regional Palace of Children and Youth Creativity in cooperation with the Avalist NGO from Sloviansk discussed the topic "Civil Society 2025. The Present". The event was held in a mixed format, with more than 60 participants, both offline and online.
The meeting made it possible to emphasize the effectiveness of cooperation between educational and public institutions in the process of civil society development.
The speakers of the studio were
- Olha Kanziuba, Director of the Donetsk Regional Palace of Children and Youth Creativity,
- Iryna Reshetova, head of the project "Gender-sensitive life-saving assistance for frontline communities in Eastern Ukraine" at the NGO Avalist,
- Natalia Nikitina, advisor on equal rights and opportunities for women and men in the Slavic community,
- Tetyana Khimion, founder of the "Exemplary Artistic Collective" of the dance studio "Fo Step", military servicewoman,
- Tetyana Sokolenko, historian, political scientist, PhD in pedagogy, and Natalia Baiduga, volunteer, head of the "Feel the Rhythm" club at the Donetsk Regional Palace of Children and Youth Creativity.
Together, the participants discussed issues relevant to Ukrainian society:
- current challenges and opportunities for the formation of civil society;
- the role of out-of-school education in the formation of civic consciousness;
- the importance of equality of rights and opportunities;
- civic engagement of young people;
- activities of civil society institutions.
A highlight of the meeting was the video challenge "I Change the World Around Me: My Civic Position" presented by students from Donetsk Oblast.
The event once again confirmed that civil society is primarily a practice of self-organization, partnership and cooperation that forms a generation of active and responsible citizens of Ukraine.
