The Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration and Chief of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Vadym Filashkin, reported that the Donetsk region was proudly represented in the finals of the third season of the "Side by Side: All-Ukrainian School Leagues."
Throughout June and early July, the region was represented by 14 teams across different age groups competing in 10 sports: chess, grassroots football, Rugby-5, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, athletics, 3x3 basketball, orienteering, and cheerleading.
The Donetsk region was represented by students from the Velyka Novosilka, Dobropillia, Myrnohrad, Novodonetske, Ocheretyne, Pokrovsk, and Sloviansk communities.
"This time, our teams did not reach the podium. But for children from a frontline region, simply competing in a nationwide final is already a significant achievement. It means gaining experience, making new friends, supporting one another as a team, building self-confidence, and finding the motivation to keep moving forward.
'Side by Side' is an initiative of the President of Ukraine that helps children from across the country grow through sport, experience a sense of unity, and find strength even in difficult times.
I am proud of our students. A strong and talented young generation is growing up in the Donetsk region," Vadym Filashkin emphasized.
