Services continue to be provided to people with limited mobility who were evacuated from the Donetsk region.
In August this year, a new assisted living facility of the Shakhovka Community Social Services Center began operating.
The project was implemented in a very short time by the Shakhovka military administration with the assistance of the Zolotonosha community in the Cherkasy region. The premises were renovated, and equipment and furniture were installed. Comfortable and inclusive living conditions were created for Donetsk residents who were forced to leave their homes due to the war.
Eight people with limited mobility from Donetsk already live in the facility. Supported living is a set of measures aimed at creating social and living conditions and restoring the skills of independent living in people who have lost them for certain reasons.
This service is designed for elderly people and/or adults with disabilities who need outside care and domestic and medical support. They are provided with a place to live, assistance in organizing their daily routine, developing independence skills, teaching them how to run a household, organizing medical care, communication with other specialists and institutions. They also facilitate access to free legal aid.
In addition, more than 400 evacuated elderly single residents of Donetsk are receiving social services in the form of “home care” at their new place of residence, either in rented accommodation or in temporary accommodation for internally displaced persons, which provides them with assistance in their daily lives.
All these people were evacuated to safer areas in cooperation with the regional state administration, military administrations of settlements, volunteers, and charitable organizations.
All Donetsk residents who need free accommodation in temporary accommodation facilities are provided with appropriate assistance.
