Defenders of Ukraine Day unites millions of Ukrainians in a shared message of ‘thank you’. It was with these very words that Ukrainians took part in the annual ‘Strength in Pixels’ video marathon of gratitude, conveying their support to those defending Ukraine through heartfelt wishes and video messages.
The video marathon was organised by the Donetsk Regional Educational and Methodological Centre for Culture with the support of the Donetsk Regional State Administration. This year, over 300 participants took part, including many children of Ukraine’s defenders and representatives of different generations, united by a shared desire to support Ukrainian soldiers. Participants from other regions of Ukraine also sent in their video messages.
Each video contained words of gratitude, pride, support and faith. The children’s messages were particularly heartfelt, as behind each one lay love for their loved ones defending the country and faith in their safe return home.
‘Strength in Pixels’ has become a space for unity and sincere gratitude towards those who defend Ukraine every day. In their own words, the marathon participants reminded us: ‘Defenders! We remember you, thank you, support you and eagerly await your return and Ukraine’s victory!’
