Donetsk Oblast is among the leaders in implementing a barrier-free digital environment

Published 05 June 2026 year, 11:30

During National Accessibility Week, the results of the annual monitoring of the accessibility of government websites, conducted by UNDP, were presented. According to the assessment, Donetsk Oblast ranked among the top five regions in Ukraine that demonstrated the greatest progress in the area of web accessibility.

This achievement was made possible thanks to the fruitful and collaborative work of the Strategic Communications Department, the Department of Informatization and Digitalization, and the Department of Investment, Innovation, and External Relations of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, which systematically work to ensure equal access for citizens to information and electronic services. UNDP support plays a crucial role in this process, facilitating the implementation of modern web accessibility standards and the development of a barrier-free digital environment.

Particular attention is paid to creating a clear, convenient, and accessible digital space for all segments of the population, including people with disabilities, veterans, older adults, and other groups with limited mobility.

Accessibility in the digital environment is not only a modern standard but also an important step toward building a state where every citizen has equal opportunities to access information and public services.

Donetsk Oblast continues to implement the principles of accessibility and inclusion, making digital services more convenient and open to everyone.
