We invite you to an online discussion “Childhood During War”

Published 02 June 2025 year, 17:20

Every year, on June 4, Ukraine commemorates the Day of Remembrance for Children Who Died as a Result of the Russian Federation's Armed Aggression Against Ukraine. It is a day of remembrance and deep awareness of how war changes the lives of even the youngest Ukrainians.

On this day, the Donetsk Regional Library for Children, with the support of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, invites you to join an online meeting as part of the Speaker_club socio-educational project “Let's Talk About...” on the topic: “Fairy Tales from the Shelter: How to Talk to Children About War.”

The guest of the meeting is Oksana Tribun, writer, psychologist, and author of the book “Fairy Tales in the Shelter.” During the conversation, we will talk about the importance of psychological support for children during the war, about fairy tales as a language of safety, a resource, and a bridge to hope. The author will share her own experience of working with children in wartime and talk about how words can heal and help people cope with the most difficult events.

The event will take place on June 4 at 11:00 a.m. on the Google Meet platform. Link to the registration form

We invite parents, educators, librarians, psychologists, and anyone who works with children or seeks to support childhood despite the war. This will be a conversation that helps to understand, empathize, and support.
