Experience Never Expires: Svitlana's Employment Success Story from Novohrodivka

Published 14 July 2026 year, 17:35

Sometimes the best job opportunities come not because of a diploma or a job title, but because of the skills we have built over many years. Discipline, responsibility, and the ability to learn quickly are the qualities employers value most.

That is exactly what helped Svitlana Yuzva from Novohrodivka. For more than 20 years, she worked in the profession she loved as a substation maintenance electrician at the Eastern Branch of the State Enterprise "Regional Electric Networks." Due to the war and the liquidation of the enterprise, she lost her job.

After relocating to the Dnipropetrovsk region, Svitlana continued her job search and turned to the Donetsk Regional Employment Service for assistance. To accelerate her professional adaptation, she actively participated in training sessions and completed the specialized course "Mental Health Skills for Professional Adaptation" at one of the State Employment Service's vocational training centers. When she learned about the national "Experience Matters" project, she decided to join without hesitation.

What makes the project unique? Instead of matching people based solely on job titles, it focuses on their real-world skills and experience. Using an interactive Skills Matrix, artificial intelligence analyzes participants' competencies and identifies the most suitable job opportunities.

Through the project, Svitlana was matched with a position at a large mining and chemical company. The employer recognized both her extensive experience and her willingness to learn new processes. After successfully completing an internship, she became part of the company's team. Today, Svitlana works as a concentrator operator, overseeing mineral separation and processing operations.

If you are 50 or older and looking for a job, this project is designed for you. Whether you have had to relocate or change professions, your experience remains your greatest asset.

Participants in the project receive:

  • Free training in digital tools, artificial intelligence, and career planning;

  • Support in working effectively within multigenerational teams;

  • Fast-track interviews, internships, and official employment opportunities.

To join the project, visit the official website of the State Employment Service and complete the application: https://www.dcz.gov.ua/profnavch/navchintern

The application takes only a few minutes to complete but could transform your professional future.
