Police officers, working together with volunteers, managed to evacuate several families. In addition, the crew transported people who had left Kostiantynivka on foot and were injured by an enemy UAV strike.
At the time of the civilian rescue, Russia launched a massive drone attack on the village. Risking their lives, police officers pulled people from destroyed homes. Due to the danger, they had to spread out and wait for moments of silence just to get into the cars.
As the drones approached, the “White Angels” fired on enemy targets, providing cover for the passengers. This is how every evacuation from frontline areas, where the enemy controls the skies, is currently taking place.
Russian forces are targeting not only evacuation vehicles but also civilians on foot who are trying to flee the shelling. During the evacuation from Kostiantynivka, a drone attacked elderly people, who were injured.
Police officers transported all those rescued to a safe location. Volunteers will then accompany the civilians to their new place of residence.
About 880 residents remain in Oleksievo-Druzhkivka. The evacuation is ongoing.
