Forced to rent housing after leaving your home in a temporarily occupied or frontline area? The state can partially compensate your rent.
Ukraine has a housing rent subsidy program for internally displaced persons (IDPs).
Who is eligible?
➖ IDPs from temporarily occupied territories or areas of active hostilities;
➖ families whose homes are destroyed or uninhabitable;
➖ those who do not own housing in safer regions;
➖ families spending more than 20% of their income on rent;
➖ those who do not receive living assistance payments.
How to apply?
1️⃣ Sign a rental agreement.
2️⃣ Submit an application to the Pension Fund of Ukraine:
▫️ offline at a Pension Fund service center or an Administrative Service Center (CNAP);
▫️ online via the Pension Fund’s web portal of electronic services (both tenant and landlord must have an electronic signature).
3️⃣ Prepare copies of identification documents (passport, tax ID number).
❗️A decision is made within 10 working days.
🏠 The rent subsidy is granted for six months with automatic extension. The amount is calculated individually, depending on income, household composition, and regional rental costs.

The program also provides partial tax compensation for landlords.
A rent subsidy is an opportunity for IDPs to receive support during a difficult period and to formalize rental relations legally.
