In Ukraine, the mechanism developed by the Ministry of Social Policy, Family, and Unity of Ukraine for the temporary placement of evacuees in medical facilities remains in effect; there, people receive long-term nursing care for 60 days. This includes lodging, meals, daily care, and medical and psychological support.
In late June–early July 2026, thanks to the cooperation between the Ministry of Social Policy and the “Skhid SOS” Charitable Foundation, another 50 evacuees were transported to hospitals in the Zhytomyr, Rivne, and Kirovohrad regions. The “Skhid SOS” team organized comfortable transportation and support for them.
All of them are people with limited mobility who had previously been rescued by the foundation’s teams—in collaboration with the “White Angel” police unit, the State Emergency Service, and partner organizations—from frontline areas in the Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, and Zaporizhzhia regions. After their evacuation, the evacuees temporarily stayed at the “Ocean of Goodness” NGO’s Center for Social Adaptation of People with Disabilities in Dnipro, where they received the necessary care.
This time, 15 people were transported to the Volodymyrets Multidisciplinary Hospital in the Rivne region. Among them was 79-year-old Valentina Mykhailivna, who has ischemic heart disease and suffers from high blood pressure. In June, an evacuation team from the “Skhid SOS” Charitable Foundation rescued her from the frontline town of Vasylkivka in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, where the security situation is deteriorating by the day.
Twenty people were transported to the Narodytsia Hospital (Zhytomyr Oblast), including 95-year-old Inna Mykhailivna from Kramatorsk, who is unable to move on her own. Another 15 people will receive long-term nursing care at the Pomichna City Hospital (Kirovohrad Oblast).
After providing long-term nursing care, social workers help the person determine their future place of residence. If necessary, other social services may be provided for this purpose, or arrangements may be made for relocation to temporary housing.
