On August 24, 2026, staff members of the Regional State Administration’s Department of Family, Youth, and Public Events for National-Patriotic Education, as well as specialists from subordinate agencies and institutions, held a working meeting with representatives of the international humanitarian organization The HALO Trust in Ukraine.
Since 2015, The HALO Trust has been one of the key operators of mine action in Ukraine. Its specialists systematically carry out humanitarian demining and implement educational programs aimed at preventing risks associated with explosive ordnance.
The main goal of the event is to reduce the risks of contact with explosive ordnance, prevent accidents, and raise awareness among citizens living in high-risk areas or who are internally displaced persons.
During the presentation, participants examined in detail the following key topics: the most common types of explosive and suspicious objects found in Ukraine; procedures and safety measures to follow upon discovering such objects; signs and markings of hazardous areas, as well as clear rules of conduct when near them; and step-by-step instructions on what to do if a person accidentally finds themselves in a potentially mined or hazardous area.
The knowledge gained and the recommended guidelines are extremely relevant; staff members of the department and its subordinate agencies will use them not only for their own safety but will also incorporate them into their daily work with youth, families, and other target groups, passing this vital information on to their communities.
