As part of the national project “Side by Side: United Communities,” a meeting was held between representatives of the social protection sectors of the Bakhmut and Kremenchuk communities.

The event was attended by specialists from the Social Protection Department of the Bakhmut City Council and the Social Protection Department of the Kremenchuk City Council.

The purpose of the meeting was to establish cooperation between the communities in a “Partners’ Get-Together” format, exchange experiences in the field of social protection, and identify promising areas for further collaboration.

Representatives of the Bakhmut community presented the activities of the community’s social protection system, its main areas of work—including support for internally displaced persons, war veterans, and their families—as well as the implementation of social programs for vulnerable population groups.

The Kremenchuk community presented its experience in organizing work in the field of social protection, implementing key social programs, and collaborating with social institutions, civil society organizations, and other partners.

Based on the results of the meeting, the main areas for further cooperation were identified:

·  exchanging experiences in the provision of social services and social support to the population;

·  establishing effective communication among community social service professionals;

·  conducting joint thematic online meetings and consultations;

·  developing partnership initiatives within the framework of the “Side by Side: United Communities” project.

The online meeting marked an important step in the development of inter-municipal partnerships, which will help strengthen cooperation among communities in the field of social protection.
