Child rights advocates are invited to a new hands-on online course

A free online course titled “Child Rights Protection System” has launched on the Prometheus educational platform. The course is designed for employees of child welfare services, social workers, representatives of local governments, and all stakeholders involved in interagency cooperation.

The initiative is being implemented by the Ministry of Social Policy, Family, and Unity of Ukraine in collaboration with the State Service of Ukraine for Children’s Affairs, with support from the Coordination Center for the Development of Family-Based Child Care and Upbringing, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Ukraine, as well as with financial support from the Government of the United Kingdom as part of the “Social Protection for Inclusion, Resilience, Innovation, and Transformation” (SPIRIT) project.

The main goal of the course is to provide professionals with systematic, practical tools for their daily work, aimed at deepening their knowledge of national and international systems for the protection of children’s rights and ensuring strict adherence to the principle of the best interests of every child.

Key areas of the training program:

  • international standards, conventions, and national legislation in the field of child protection;
  • mechanisms for interagency cooperation and coordination among child protection agencies;
  • practical implementation of the principle of the best interests of the child in decision-making;
  • procedures for identifying and assessing risks and responding promptly to challenges in crisis situations.

The training is conducted entirely online, at a pace convenient for each participant. Participation in the course is free of charge.
