On the occasion of the Day of Heroes of Ukraine, the Donetsk Youth Palace "Yunost" held a regional online recitation contest "Glory to Heroes Forever!". The competition was aimed at honoring the fighters for freedom and independence of Ukraine - both past and present heroes who are defending our land with arms.
The competition was held in the format of video presentations and brought together about 180 participants from 56 educational institutions in Donetsk Oblast - schools, out-of-school, vocational, professional, pre-university and higher education institutions.
The participants competed in two nominations - "Declaration of a Poem" and "Author's Poem" - and five age categories. The young people presented sincere, emotional and meaningful speeches full of patriotism, gratitude and faith in Ukraine.
The Grand Prix was awarded in the "Declaration of a Poem" nomination:

- Yaroslava Timoshina, Donetsk Youth Palace "Yunist";
- Olena Tishkova, secondary school No. 17 of the Toretsk City Military-Civilian Administration.
The Audience Award, determined by the results of online voting, in which more than 1000 participants took part, went to
in the nomination "Declamation of a Poem" - Tarlan Abbasov, Bakhmut Secondary School No. 5 with specialized education of the Bakhmut City Council, Donetsk Oblast;

This contest was not just a creative competition, but a powerful manifestation of the civic consciousness of young Donetsk residents. Through poetry, young people expressed their gratitude to those who are defending Ukraine today and to those whose sacrifice has already been written down in history.
Modern heroes are not only on the pages of textbooks. They are among us, and young people understand this, respect the defenders of Ukraine and gratefully say to them: "Glory to the Heroes!"
