On 21 January, an educational discussion entitled ‘Bridges of Unity: A United Ukraine – The Path to Victory’ was organised by the Donetsk Regional Museum of Local History.
The event was attended by 10th and 11th grade students and teachers from schools in the Kramatorsk, Dobropillia, and Bakhmut communities of Donetsk Oblast.
The discussion focused on the events of the Ukrainian people's national liberation struggle of 1917–1921, the idea of unity, and the Ukrainians' desire to create a single state. Particular attention was paid to the history of the signing of the Act of Unification on 22 January 1919, the relations between the Ukrainian People's Republic and the West Ukrainian People's Republic, as well as the significance of these events in the current context of the war for Ukraine's independence.
During the meeting, participants discussed little-known pages of history, the role of unity in the formation of statehood, and its relevance today. High school students joined the discussion, expressed their own opinions, and answered the moderator's questions.
The event took place in an open and friendly atmosphere and became another step towards preserving historical memory and shaping young people's conscious attitude towards the values of unity and statehood.
The Donetsk Regional Local History Museum sincerely thanks all participants for their active participation in the discussion.
