The international humanitarian organization MERCY CORPS, with the support of the Howard G. Buffett Foundation, is expanding the Ukraine Agriculture Support Program (UASP) and launching a component aimed at supporting women farmers.
The program is being implemented in 13 oblasts, including Dnipropetrovs'k, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Poltava, Cherkasy, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, Chernihiv, and Kyiv.
Local residents and internally displaced persons (IDPs) who are:
- head a household or an existing agribusiness OR seek to start an entrepreneurial activity in the field of agricultural production;
- carry out or plan to carry out agricultural activities on a land plot of no more than 150 hectares.

- Training program:
- Entrepreneurship: development of business skills (basics of entrepreneurship, business planning, marketing, fundraising, etc.)
Specialized agriculture: training in one of the following areas: vegetable growing, berry growing, horticulture, beekeeping, poultry farming, cattle breeding, pig breeding, rabbit breeding, sheep breeding, goat breeding, etc.
- Entrepreneurship: development of business skills (basics of entrepreneurship, business planning, marketing, fundraising, etc.)
- Study tours: Participants who successfully complete the training will be able to visit leading farms to share their experiences.
- Financial assistance (Grants): Opportunity to receive financial assistance from $3,000 to $7,000 (in UAH equivalent at the NBU exchange rate) on a competitive basis to start or develop your own business. The amount is subject to change depending on the business idea.
To receive a grant, you must:
- Successfully complete the training program.
- Submit a realistic and viable business idea.
- For those planning new activities, have the minimum necessary resources to start a business (land, premises, communications, etc.).
Participants are selected on a competitive basis.
Applications are accepted from October 15 to November 16, 2025.
